We all know the big wedding of the year was, of course, the Royal Wedding - but there are plenty of other A-list celebs that tied the knot! So we wanted to recap for you some of the other festivities that took place this year thus far. This mid-year review will put us in a good position for our end of the year recap. Valerie Bertinelli and Tom Vitale - After dating for more than six years they decided to tie the knot in their Malibu home on New Year's Day with close friends and family. Her dress was designed exclusively by David Meister, whom I had the pleasure meeting a few years ago at a private event. One guest that will remain near and dear to her heart, Eddie Van Halen, married for 25 years. was front and center while Val and Tom were exchanging their vows. I guess Valerie will take "One Day at a Time". I wonder what their first song was - Can't stop loving you, I doubt it!!!
Shania Twain and Fred Thiebaud - Another celeb wedding took place on New Year's Day in Puerto Rico with only 40 guests during a sunset ceremony on the beach. Shania's nine year old son walked her down the aisle. She wore Calvin Klein shoes with a dress from a small store in Switzerland. Thanks heavens it wasn't the uber tight and sexy leopard catsuit she wore in her 1998 music video "That don't impress me much" After the ceremony, Shania sang at her own reception!
Kelsey Grammer and Kayte Walsh - Although this couple has nearly 26 years in between them, they wed at the Longacre Theater on February 25th in New York City (far from his Beverly Hills ex, Camille.) The reception followed at the Plaza Hotel with a mix of Hollywood and Uptown style. Maybe four times the charm for Kelsey! Love the Gold Manolos!
Reese Witherspoon and Jim Toth - This gorgeous couple wed on March 26th on Libbey Ranch in Ojai, California with nearly 100 guests. Monique Lhuillier designed the wedding dress with Jimmy Choo sandals. Some of the guests included Sean Penn, Scarlett Johansson, Tobey Maguire, Renee Zellweger, Robert Downey Jr. and Alyssa Milano.
Michael Bublé and Luisana Lopilato - They first exchanged vows in a civil ceremony in Buenos Aires, Argentina on March 31st. A few days later the couple celebrated with a 300 guest reception at a private mansion. The bride was seen wearing a satin gown featuring a plunging neckline and tiered skirt by Argentinean designer Sylvie Burstin and Christian Louboutin (one of our fav designers) heels. Their second celebration took place in Canada on May 20th at the Pan Pacific Hotel with another 500 guests!
Leann Rimes and Eddie Cibrian - Surprise! That is what happened to the 40 guests who arrived to the 'engagement party" or so they thought on April 22nd in Malibu. It turned out that the couple would actually wed that day in a private ceremony. The very un-traditional couple were together nearly all day getting ready and sipping cocktails before their vows. Leann wore a Reem Acra gown and looked stunning!
Lorenzo Lamas and Shawna Craig - On April 30th 53 year old Renegade Star, wed his much younger lady (even one year younger than his own daughter and Bachelor finalist) at the Casa Dorada Resort in Cabo San Lucas. Shortly after the ceremony, Lorenzo took his new bride on a jetski for a ride before the reception, I guess the LOVE BOAT was not available that day. This is Lorenzo's fifth marriage! Seriously, this guys has been around for a LONG time - a few noted shows he was on - Love Boat, Falcons Crest, Bold and the Beautiful and ofcouse the Renegade.
Marie Osmond and Stephen Craig - Yes, they wed for the second time! The couple shared vows on May 4th at the Mormon Temple in Vegas. The reception followed at their Nevada home, where Marie wore the same dress as their first marriage. I wonder what their first dance was - the cha-cha, the paso or perhaps the two step???
Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton - This country singing powerhouse couple tied the knot on May 14th at Don Strange Ranch in Boerne, Texas. Miranda wore her mother's wedding gown, then later changed in another gown and Blake wore blue jeans! Some of the 550 guests included Katherine Heigl, Josh Kelley, Reba McEntire, Dierks Bentley, Laura Bell Bundy, Cee Lo Green, Martina McBride, and Kelly Clarkson.If you haven't seen their wedding pics, they are fabulous and the details - STUNNING!
Sara Rue and Kevin Price - Shedding for the Wedding is an understatement! Sara looked amazing in her Amsale gown on her wedding on May 21st in Pacific Palisades, California. It was a traditional Jewish wedding, with Jewish dishes and two wedding cakes! I think the diet plan fell out the window for one day
Tony Romo and Candice Crawford - The most recent celeb wedding took place on May 28th in Dallas, Texas (surprise). Of course, Jerry Jones was there along with many past and present Cowboys players. The couple exchanged vows under a tent at Arlington Hall with 600 guests watching. I guess Jessica Simpson did not get the invite! The guests received custom gift bags that included a Neiman Marcus gift card, assorted treats from Great One Cookies, a miniature bottle of Moet champagne, a box of Dude Sweet Chocolates, gourmet popcorn, chips and salsa, "Killer Pecans" from Bandera Foods, Voss bottled water, and an assortment of Kiehl's beauty and body product - talk about swag!! -" THESE ARE A FEW OF MY FAVORITE THINGS" - as Julie Andrews is singing in the background
So who is next, Kim Kardashian and Kris Humpries? Will Hugh Hefner ever actually marry Crystal Harris? You also have Paul McCartney and Nancy Shevell. Who do you think will make it to the alter first?

We met Trina and Scott last year right when they became newly engaged. Their planning started right away and we are thrilled to be a part of that process. The couple will wed next week on Saturday May28th, ceremony will take place at The Tenth on Delancy and the Reception at the Crystal Tea Room in the Wanamaker Building. I always ask my clients, "So, how did you guys meet"? I have heard it all kinds of stories, funny, happy, and emotional. I usually write a little bio on each couple, but this time, I left it to them. Enjoy their wonderful story and how they came to be.

AHHHHH Cinco de Mayo, we here love this holiday, in Mexico, not so much. It gives us another reason to enjoy a cool Margarita with friends and family. We would love to know where everyone is partying today, maybe we can party together and drinks on me!

Can you believe how royal that wedding was? We know you have seen the videos and pictures - but what did you think? We thought the wedding was absolutely amazing and best of all, it went off without a hitch! The royal wedding of course marks an important time in history, but also an important time in fashion history!
This wedding marked the 16th royal wedding to be held at Westminster Abbey. There was 1,900 people inside the Abbey for the ceremony, with many guests from around the world. Roughly 44 royals from different countries were invited to the ceremony and had prime seating near the Queen, the Middleton's and the Spencer's. Only a few celebrities received a royal invitation including the Beckham's, Elton John and his partner David Furnish, Joss Stone, Tara Palmer Tomkinson and Guy Ritchie.
Nearly one million people lined the streets of London to catch a glimpse of the royals and a few million more would watch on television. Guests started arriving at the Abbey as early as 9am and continued through the 10 o'clock hour.
The Beckham's (on left) arrived at the Abbey very early. Victoria wore a dress from her own collection, Christian Louboutin platform pumps and a Philip Treacy hat; while David looked PHENOM in his Ralph Lauren suit. Seriously, HOTTTT!!!! Tara Palmer Tomkinson (right), who is an English socialite, wore a bright blue ensemble including a Philip Treacy hat. OMG, her Blue Louboutins are killer, Ang will probably call her personal shopper at Neimans for those to add to her collection!
Most guests arrived in style with toppers and fascinators on head - all of which we love! Although it seemed as if Samantha Cameron, the British Prime Ministers wife, forgot her fascinator! There of course were a few oddballs (Princesses Eugenie and Beatrice) but overall style was great! There seemed to be many bright colors including purples, pinks and oranges. Many of the guests did make some fashion statements, but lets be honest - who were you all really look at? The wedding party, the Royal family and the Middleton's.
First to arrive were the Princes, William and Harry. We have seen these two at all sorts of affairs since they were young boys but it was at the wedding, they both seemed so grown up. William looked strikingly similar to his late mother, Princess Diana and Harry looking dapper with his full head of red hair. The Princes left the Clarence House at 10:12am and arrived right around 10:18am at Westminster Abbey in their uniforms. Prince William, now Duke of Cambridge, was seen wearing his Irish Guards Uniform, since he is the Colonel of the Irish Guards. Prince Harry chose to wear his Captain of the Household Cavalry Uniform to the royal ceremony.
Both William and Harry seemed relaxed and full of smiles. Once inside the Abbey they were greeted by the Dean and escorted down the aisle by Stephen Lamport, Prince Charles's former private secretary. Prince William immediately greeted members of his mother's family, which is a true testament of how present Princess Diana's spirit was at the Abbey.
Next in line was the "mums" - Carole Middleton, Camilla and the Queen. Carole Middleton wore Catherine Walker, who ironically was Princess Diana's favorite designer. She wore a light blue almost gray dress and fitted coat with satin piping and braiding. Camilla chose a two toned Anna Valentine dress and long coat. The Queen wore bright yellow, a bit unexpected, with matching hat and purse. (What does the Queen even need to carry in that purse?) All the 'mums' looked fabulous and regal.
Next to arrive was Pippa and the mini attendants. Pippa wore a Sarah Burton gown, which was exquisitely done and looked amazing on her.The children included Margarita Armstrong-Jones, Tom Pettifer, Lady Louise Windsor, William Lowther-Pinkerton, Grace van Cutsem, and Eliza Lopes. The little ladies wore Nicki MacFarlance handmade gowns and the boys wore red uniforms which mimicked Foot Guards during the Regency era.
Last but certainly not least is Kate Middleton's dress designed by Sarah Burton of Alexander McQueen, was flawless! Her dress was elegant but sexy and matched her personality to a T. The now "Duchess of Cambridge" walked down the aisle in a white and ivory satin gazar gown with English and French lace covering the bodice, skirt and underskirt. Flowers including rose, thistle, daffodil and shamrocks were hand cut from lace to create the dress design. The back of her dress featured 58 covered buttons with rouleau loops with a nearly 9 foot train. (We also couldn't help but notice how similar Kate's dress was to Grace Kelly's gown when she married Prince Rainier of Manaco.) Her crown was a halo tiara borrowed from the Queen, made by Cartier in 1936. The crown was originally a gift to the Queen Mum from King George VI, and was then passed to Queen Elizabeth (Princess at the time) on her 18th birthday. Her modest veil was made of silk tulle with hand-embroidered flowers just sheer enough to see the brides face. Kate's earrings were a present from her parents, and designed after the Middleton coat of arms featuring oakleaf and acorn shapes made by Robinson Pelham. Although we didn't see much of her shoes, they were also hand made by McQueen. Kate held a small bouquet made of ivy, hyacinth, lily of the valley, and sprig of myrtle from Queen Victoria's wedding. And if you were wondering what polish Kate had on her nails, it was 'allure' by Essie, which I'm sure is sold out by now.
This was the exact moment when Kate revealed her dress to the world. She gracefully stepped out of the 1977 Rolls Royce Phantom at exactly 11:00am to display her royal wedding gown.
Soon after she arrived, Kate walked down the aisle to her Prince. William waited until Kate stood beside him, to see his bride for the first time. You could see the emotion all over William's face as he whispered to Kate "you look beautiful." William even was seen nervously biting on his lip (as his mother did) during the ceremony. The couple exchanged vows and quickly became the Duke & Duchess of Cambridge.
The new couple would take the famous carriage ride to Buckingham Palace and officially greet London on the balcony for the royal kiss (or two).
The official wedding photographs took place inside the Palace, which would be followed by a reception hosted by the Queen.
After much celebration and photos, the couples close family and friends partied late into the night, as Prince Harry hosted a party for the couple. The Queen left shortly after her party to allow some real partying to begin.
Prince William, Kate and Pippa had a costume change for the reception parties. They look fabulous, maybe even more fabulous than the wedding! We absolutely love Kate's dress and mini sweater along with Pippa's silk green dress with a plunging neckline!
Although there hasn't been any reports of royal hangovers, we can only imagine how late or early into the morning Harry's party went!
We felt like royalty watching this wedding and it will be the talk of the century, that is, if Harry gets married soon. I thought that him and Pippa looked kinda cute together!!!!.

Lets cut to the chase - did Hot Mama Deidrea sink or swim with the sharks? You're probably dying to know! Although you should of been watching the show, we can tell you all the inside scoop.
Deidrea, owner of Hot Mama Gowns, pitched her company to the sharks on ABC's show, Shark Tank, on Friday, April 22nd. Of course we planned a fabulous viewing party for her at McKenzie Brew House in Glen Mills for all of her family and friends to watch the exciting outcome together. Well the answer is - she both sank and swam with the sharks! Deidrea did get an offer from real estate mogul Barbara Corcoran, but turned it down! Crazy, right! Barbara wanted to change some things about the gowns, including sizing, which Deidrea felt was not beneficial. Hot Mama Gowns are made specifically for real women sizes - we all know that small, medium, large doesn't always work for our body types! Barbara also offered to give Deidrea the $30,000 she asked for but wanted 40% of her company. (I don't blame her for saying no, you put in all that work, why would you want to give so much away?)

The viewing party at McKenzie's was definitely a hot mama party! So many of Deidrea's "cheerleaders" were there rooting her on. Everyone was so excited and anxious to see what had happened, since Deidrea had to keep it a secret since October! The party was held in a private room downstairs of McKenzie's with televisions all around to watch. Everyone who came through the door was simply thrilled to be there - you could just tell by the look on their face. Luckily, Kevin York Photography was there to capture each moment of the night.
Of course, since we are now "professional swaggers" - there were amazing swag boxes given away to guests at the end of the night! The boxes were stuffed with "mommy" gifts including tea from Earth Mama Angel Baby Organics, adorable hair clips from Kula Klips, cloth diaper detergent from Rockin' Green Soap, a face cloth from LunaPads, a delicious oatcake from Effie's Homemade, organic baby soap from Sweet Knee, and a beautiful blanket from Babi Layers. The Belly Button Boutique also donated a UPPA baby VISTA stroller (worth $679.99) that Deidrea raffled off the night of the viewing. After stuffing 100 swag boxes with baby goodness, I think Ash and I are experts on what to suggest to mommy's to be.
The space was decked out with all of Deidrea's Hot Mama items. She had two gowns on display, along with swaddling blankets. Hot Mama Gowns even had their own custom M&M's! The Orginial Runner Co. donated a hot pink aisle runner for the entrance, which looked absolutely amazing! The event was packed with hot mamas (and some dads too)!
The night started out FABULOUS, D wore these will shoes with hints of pink. I love her entire outfit, including her chic coiff ! All guests were photographed in front of the step and repeat board that we designed and set up. How glamorous!!!

Deidrea really tells the story best. We can only imagine the adrenaline running through her body the night of the viewing! After the show Deidrea did a breif Q&A session - and it turns out that since the show she has had an "angel investor" come into her life. It's true, one of our clients, Deidrea Haysel, is taking a huge plunge into the shark tank! Not the shark tank you're probably thinking of, but ABC's hit show Shark Tank. Deidra owns Hot Mama Gowns the latest and most fashionable way to dress during maternity.
We have had the honor to plan Deidrea's viewing party which is happening THIS Friday, April 22nd at McKenzie Brew House in Glenn Mills from 6:30-9:30pm. And yes - of course you can come! Deidrea came up with the idea of Hot Mama Gowns during her own pregnancy in 2006. She was not thrilled with what she calls the, "itchy, chemical smelling, faded hospital gowns." Right then and there was when her idea came to life! Deidrea went through many prototypes but eventually came up with a great design, plus the gowns are 100% pure organic cotton. The gowns are absolutely beautiful and range from sizes 2-24, with many styles to choose from. (Too bad neither of us are pregnant, or we would buy some ourselves!)

Now if you don't know what Shark Tank is all about, it's simple. The basic concept is that entrepreneurs put their company or idea out of the line, for the 'sharks' to take a bite at. Those 'sharks' consist of Mark Cuban, Jeff Foxworthy, real estate mogul Barbara Corcoran, infomercial industry pioneer Kevin Harrington, technology innovator Robert Herjavec, fashion icon Daymond John and financial expert Kevin O'Leary - not an easy crowd to please! The sharks decide whether or not they want to use their contacts and expertise to invest in the company. So on Friday, we will see if Hot Mama Gowns sank or swam with the sharks!

So you're probably wondering what do games and activities have to do with your wedding? Well if you haven't heard by now, games and activities are the new "to do." As we all have probably experienced, there are a few "wait" times before and during the reception where everyone stands around drink in hand. Well, this is the time for you to come up with something creative!

Some of our own past clients have done activites and it was a huge success! We have had casino gaming rooms with cigar rollers and wine tasting as well as fun hip lounge with Fotobooths, candy bars and flatscreens playing "Beerfest"!

Although some guests may think activities are a little corny, we all have an inner child, so why not let it out? So while your guests are waiting for you to take pictures and touch up, have some great entertainment!
1. Have your cake decorated during cocktail hour - Bakeries are now offering cake decorating at your wedding! Now of course, you must have a simple cake that may only take an hour or so to decorate. But who wouldn't love to see the creation that they get to divulge into later?
2. Couple Trivia - You can make this as simple or as complicated as you wish. Type up some questions about the bride and groom, hand out the quiz and see who knows the most! (I have done this before at a wedding, and it was a lot more fun than it sounds!).
3. Photo booth - We all know that we can't say no to those fun photo booths. You see them in the mall or on the boardwalk - why not at your wedding? There are a few companies out there now offering this service. All you do is rent it and let everyone have some fun! Some places offer a live video of inside the photo booth which can be a screen so all the guests can watch the fun. Photos are then printed out for a fun favor!'
As you can see, we get into the fun to. I have a cork board full of these pics. You can also customize the strip with your logo printed on them. Several were taken by our good friends at Go Festive!
4. Guessing Jar - This goes back to school days when during the holidays you got to guess how many jelly beans or M&M's were in the jar. Simple and easy for all the guests to enjoy! The winner gets to take home the jar of goodies!

5. Advice Box - You have probably heard about the "wish" boxes at weddings, but don't they really all say the same thing? Change it up a little and have an advice box. I can only imagine what some advice would be for a successful marriage! You will have a great time reading the "advice" later

Yesterday Ashley and I attended the Cairnwood Gala in Bryn Athyn. We sponsored the swag boxes that each couple left home with. Ok, what is a "swag" box? I know, in Hollywood all the celebrity attendees receive a "thank you" box for joining the event. We designed our box with the guests in mind. What was in the Box???
What would be a great starter, for me, after every event, wedding whatever, I have the munchies, so we partnered with our good friend Maki, owner of Cupcakes Gourmet in Wayne. Maki designed yummy cupcakes for each box. DId I mention there were 200 boxes! Next, we got the food part down, Donna, owner of Beautiful Blooms donated cute flower shaped votive. I love body products and all things beauty, Kiehl's in King of Prussia designed goodie bags filled with all sorts of product that is perfect for men and women. Who doesn't love that. Deb VanCleve owner of the Van Cleve Collection, graciously donated gift cards to her fabulous boutique on the Main Line. Montgomery County Local business Lux Interiors donated a gift card and trinket wrapped in a box. Lastly what did we put in the box. We wanted to show our custom print design services so I hand drew a picture of the Cairnwood Mansion, yes, seriously I did. We them had them printed into note cards with matching envelopes and color liners.
This event was so much fun and we were happy to a part of it and working with great business partners. Check out the pics for yourself

So we first started out with 70 sheets of Lokta handmade paper. The sheets were huge, and we cut them down to fit the envelopes. All 1000 of them!!! They had to be perfect, thank god for that guillotine cutter that Todd bought me. A vintage one to, oh I almost chopped my fingers a few times!
This is the finished product! A set of note cards wrapped with a belly band with our logo. Check out the drawing. Cute.
So my house looked like a storage facility, not fun for titus at all as he loves to hang out in the dining under the table. The boxes were a solid white gloss then completed with a tiffany blue ribbon and our logo on a sticker.

Ashely and I walked into this GORGEOUS archway designed by Beautiful Blooms, this was a great start to the event, next, when you walk through out the mansion, there are many rooms, the top center pic was Feastivities Events display. They created a great food and floral set up with different cheeses and other treats. The center bottom was designed by our good friends at Natural Designs Floral. They really out did themselves with this great rendition of Maxfield Parrish "Day Break". Of course, Ashely to the right here in the tent outside of the mansion. I love the arch here. She looks great in her purple dress!
When walked in to the tent, immediately we saw a Swinging Fairy. of course Sandy O, owner of Creative Juice Group, was involved with this. If you have never attended an event with a Creative Juice Group Flair you are missing out. Check out her site. We were also part of the silent auction as well. Our wonderful drawing of the Cairnwood Mansion was auctioned off. We donated 3 prints and all sold. Those years in art school paid off.

So we blogged about Rachelle and Dan yesterday about their FABULOUS photo shoot with dollface studio. Today we will post about their gorgeous invitations. We met with this fun couple back in December, both busy with work and life in general, they really didn't know where to start with the planning and design process. They contacted us for our full service and design package!
We first started with the all the major details with this event, being that the event was four months away we didn't waste any time. Hiring us for full service, we trimmed the fat from the planning and narrowed down many options with their event professionals. Rachelle and Dan wanted a venue that was elegant, special and unique - they chose the Willows Mansion in Radnor. The view was priceless and breathtaking. Sold! OK so once Rachelle and Dan's event professionals were booked, we started brainstorming ideas for the color palette. Rachelle love's purple, especially the color of the Schwartz Calla lily (remember Lisa and Randy's wedding in July - that color).
We started the design with the colors and decided on a triple layer invite suite with a handmade paper lined opal envelope. They loved them! The backing of the invite is the exact match of the calla and the middle layer is a match to Rachelle's Pronovias gown. The complete look fitting the feel and vibe of the event. Each invite was hand embossed with a luxe gold motif surrounding their monogram.
We had calligraphed each envelope with an eggplant color ink (all 65 of them). The guests were so excited for their invitation and are still raving about them to the couple.
We can't wait for their GLAMOROUS wedding next month, stay tuned!

Love the gold motif that is carried through out the print details. Here is a tip in customizing your print, choose a pantone matched ink that will be carried through out your print and details from your event. Even from your flowers or bridesmaids dresses. Oh, then contact us for the design and production!

I was at my local floral wholesaler getting ready for a floral meeting with Ashley (our new assistant and marketing director), as we breeze through the zero below refrigeration unit, I notice a billion and one different flowers in many colors. I notice a unique flower that I have never seen before. Long and behold these bizarre cylindrical things actually smell great. It was the acacia flower, and next to them were the billy balls. How funny - billy balls. Any who, I love having fresh flowers in the house, especially placed in beautiful vessels. I brought home a piece of mother nature and rested this arrangement on my antique cherry table next to a early 1900s clock.
This little arrangement totally made my day!

UPTOWN Magazine, a Niche Publication, who also Publishes the uber fab Philadelphia Style Magazine, has launched their first issue of UPTOWN weddings and travel. The exclusive issue features a recognizable reality bride from a show that I can not stop watching, The Real Housewives of Atlanta. Cynthia Bailey, if everyone can remember, showcased her super modern wedding dresss and flawless decor from her wedding. We were so excited to see that we were the only single planning company featured in this special issue.

Yesterday was a huge success. If you do not know what I'm talking about, check our post the day prior. Angela MALICKI events participated in the 4 annual LGBT commitment show hosted by the Rainbow Wedding Network held at the Homewood Suites by Hilton in Newtown. The crowd was fabulous and we made amazing connections with wonderful couples. There were many talented professionals there from florists, venues and photographers. We made a great connection with Tiffany Caldwell, owner of Tiffany Caldwell Photography, Jennifer Peluso and Mark McCool from Talamore Country Club and Tony Verna from Century 21 Alliance. There were a few familiar faces to, our good friend Susan Kennedy, director at the Spring Mill Country and Manor, Jim Duffy's Catering and the Philadelphia Gay News.
We collaborated with Natural Designs Floral for the floral execution and Party Rental LTD for the rentals. We designed the overall look and concept, completed with custom menu cards and place cards. The color palette consisted of Plums, greens and natural tones. The linen was a beautifully textured olive burlap, paired with an amethyst glass charger and matching champagne flute, a burgundy gold trimmed estate plate and two toned flatware. Our table made headlines too, Bucks County Courier Times interviewed Jeff and I for a brief overview of our business (the audio is light)

April 29, 2011 - Nearly two months away and the world will watch in awe of the next royal wedding. It could presumably be called the largest and most extravagant wedding in 2011 or the decade for that matter. Nearly 2,900 invitations have gone out. But don't feel bad if you didn't receive your royal invite, Eric, Ashley, Emily, Cindy and I had to kindly decline do to personal events here, you will not see our own prez Obama nor The Duchess of York received one either. Although, it is rumored that the Beckhams, Kayne West and Elton John did receive the royal stamp of approval. Personally, I'd rather have celebrities at my wedding then politicians too. They make for better gossip and pics.

The official royal invite. What are your thoughts? I guess the swarovski crystals, satin ribbon and lush velvet die-cuts were not in the design palette.
So instead on continuing to divulge into all the juicy details, let’s take a look at the past. One of the most talked about details of the wedding is, of course, the wedding dress. Yes, there is still question about what military uniform Prince William will wear, but let’s be serious, everyone will be looking at Kate Middleton. We have seen the ring, the church, the rest of the royals, the morning coats and top hats - let's look at the dresses!
I will start off with the Queen Bee herself. I absolutely love this dress! There could be a few slight alternations made, but overall it’s beautiful! The ivory gown was designed by Norman Hartwell and had over 10,000 pearls. I’m not a big fan of the veil, but it does go with the dress nicely. Remember, they were married during a time of depression. Queen Elizabeth did not want to have an extravagant look during a commiserating time. A royal wedding always makes for good headlines and good cheer.
Princess Margaret took after her sister, Elizabeth and chose designer Norman Hartwell. Yet, her dress was drastically different. She wanted no sequins, pearls or fancy designs. I like her simplicity. The dress seems a bit stuffy at the top but overall elegant. I do love the veil. You don’t need all that glitz with a crown like that!
Not a big fan of Princess Anne’s dress. It is a typical 70’s dress that was designed by Maureen Baker. Although it was seen as a medieval “romantic” dress, the sleeves are hideous! Was that really the style then? I also don’t agree with the turtle neck style and head dress. A big fashion no-no in my book. But that was the 70's, my mother wore something very similar to this on her nuptials. Now a days, designers are genius with their designs. Our lovely bride Leah wore a fabulous custom designed dress by Edgardo Bonilla. Her removable lace turtleneck bolero was worn during the ceremony, then at the reception it was removed and replaced with a chic lace belt. See turtlenecks can be sexy and fabulous!
Oh Princess Diana! You probably don’t even need to look at the picture to remember her dress. I actually had the privilege to see her dress in person, when the Diana exhibit came to Philly. Let me just say, it is much more gorgeous in person than in pictures. Of course it fit in with the 80’s style with the big puffy sleeves, but not exactly what I would of picked for Diana. The train is absolutely stunning but I can only imagine how heavy the whole dress was. Most people pick this as their number one royal wedding gown.
I really like Sarah Ferguson’s dress , except those darn shoulder pads! Then again, fashion does recycle itself, look at Rihanna, she LOVES the shoulder pads!Take them out and the dress would be fantastic. I like the elegance of the top with the simple skirt. But I feel like it looks just like everyone else’s dress. Can’t we do a little better for a future royal? (Ex-royal now that is.)
This is almost a combo of Princess Anne's and Princess Margaret’s dresses. Just a mini version, but not so loud. It has the v-neck line and somewhat belle sleeves. You wouldn’t believe that the dress has around 325,000 beads and pearls on it! This is one I would of loved to see in person. Remember Melania Trump's to die for Dior gown? That stunner weighed about 60 pounds. That is roughly around the same weight as 2 concrete cinder blocks. Wowzers, I guess she didn't need to work out the leading up to the wedding.
Camilla had to be different than all the rest and wear two dresses. The above dress she wore to the civil ceremony, since there was too much controversy of remarriage of divorcees in the Church of England. So for the blessing afterward at Windsor Castle, Camilla wore the dress below. I am pleased to say that Camilla dressed very age appropriate. She did not do any typical ballgown style dress to show off, she kept it classy. I am not too thrilled about the head pieces, Angela and Eric ofcourse, they loved it. "Go big or go home" they say, but I guess that is just the royal way.
So the question still remains, what will the future Queen wear? Well, the designer of Diana's dress, Elizabeth Emanuel, decided to take her own guess. If she, herself, had the chance to dress Kate - this is what it may look like.
In her own words - "My design for Kate’s dress is simple with a layer of complexity. I’d make it in an off-white silk. I wouldn’t give her sleeves, but I’d put a silk organza drape over the shoulders to keep her sufficiently covered over the top half. I would apply a lace applique over the drape to make it more detailed. Then I think it would be lovely to include a beautiful brooch, perhaps something from the Royal Family’s collection.
Well get your cup of tea and scones ready! I don't think Prince William and Kate will let us know. With 2,900 invites it is bound to be a great event! Newsflash, there are only 300 guests attending the reception! Go figure.

Last week we received a lovely thank you note from one of our clients, Alexis and Dennis.They were an absolute pleasure to work for from beginning to end Their wedding took place two days after Thanksgiving in Center City Philadelphia. Both Doctors with busy schedules, planning a wedding was not easy. We were contracted for our design planning package, Day of Coordination including vendor research. The intimate affair went off without a hitch. Pictures to come in the next week or so. We love letters like this and enjoy doing what we do best - Making the client happy!

Winter fashion/decor trends of this season is VINTAGE! Vintage inspired looks are sophisticated, yet trendy and chic at the same time. This is the answer for brides on a small budget or that fashionista channeling old hollywood glam. Family heirlooms as staple pieces enhance the theme of this Depression Era trend. Tea length dresses are also on trend for their versatility and help brides on a tight budget.
The color palette for winter is dark and flattering, bridesmaids will look amazing in rich colors like dark chocolate, charcoal gray, brick red, amazon green, mocha, and deep orange. These colors look great for the wedding but also be fabulous for other special occasions. What bridesmaid doesn’t love hearing that? Brides will also see a lot more soft fabrics such as tulle,lace, raw silks. Texture is an upcoming popular trend for bridal wear in 2010/2011.
Designers have created looks with over exhaturated necklines,hems and embellishments. This trend will not only be shown on gowns but also seen at their receptions. Textures like added ruffles, feathers, lace and jewels enhance the layering of fabrics on table linens will give heightened depth to each table-scape. Mixing heights, shapes, and sizes of tables will also be present this coming season.

I had the pleasure of coordinating Lisa and Randy's wedding this summer held at the Brookside Country Club in Pottstown. Lisa originally from the area (now living in Florida) wanted elegant - fun wedding where her guests would have fun and cut loose. Lisa's colors were perfect for the season. The bridesmaids wore a eggplant colored cross halter style dress with rosette gold heels. I love the individual style that each girl had. The bouquets consisted of one if my favorite flowers - the Picasso calla lily! Lisa's preparation location was right out of a movie, a private residence in Chester County, I was blown away from the scenery. The groomsmen wore linen suits and purple neck ties. I loved that the color was carried with the accessories.
I LOVED, LOVED the antique amethyst cocktail ring that was given to her by her mother. The braclet was a gift from Randy www.nahoku.com
OMG Lisa's dress was stunning. Her fabulous Mon Cheri gown was made of dupioni silk , completed with silk rosettes and flowing mermaid bottom. Her jeweled purple heels were by Nina. Bouquet was designed by the ever loving Tanti, owner of Papertini.
Birdcage veils is the hottest trend right now. Lisa paired it with a custom floral piece that consisted of feathers and crystals - GORG!

What an amazing wedding this one was. I met Jack and Lean back in February of this year, Leah, originally from the Scranton area and Jack a philly native. The natural thing to do was - bring the Big City to the Electric City! The Lackawanna was an old train station, now a fabulous venue of a fabulous wedding! Leah and Jack didn't want the "Usual" wedding so un-usual is what we decided. We transformed the ballroom with draping and lighting and to top it off a lounge with plasma tv's and photo booth. This was no easy task, with a strong attention to detail and an amazing team, we did it in a day and a half.
We first started with a color palette, meeting Leah, she was your girlie-girl with an edge(which I love)!The color of choice was Tiffany Blue and Red. Conceptual Design was next, and who to call other than Vic from VU Lighting. With his vision and experience, the room was mapped out for that day.
Next the flowers, the amazingly wicked Marie Huss, owner of Flower Sculpture, created an ultimate luxe idea for the centerpieces. Roses!!!!! And tons of them. They consisted of 300 plus roses in 3 different varieties for the large floral sphere, planted on a 48" opaque white cylinder. Surrounded by 4 delicate spheres consisting of all garden roses nested on custom Tiffany colored vases lit with red lights. Completed with 3 POUNDS of roses petals. Each table of covered with puffed taffeta linens provided by Total Table and white satin napkins tucked with custom menu cards(our gift o the couple).With Leah's suggestion and vision. Their day came to fruition and with out a hitch.
In this fabulous lounge we had a photo booth provided by our friends at Go Festive and furniture from CORT event. This was a perfect place for the plasma tv playing "Beerfest" per Jack's request. The best part of the wedding reception was when the couple was introduced to the theme song from "Star Wars" it doesn't get an awesome than that!!!
My team and I had a blast and will never forget this wedding.

As you know, I belong to a fabulous and exclusive organization for planners and business partners in the industry called the Society of Wedding Planners. We met at the Loews Hotel downtown for our monthly pow wow. The Loews provided an amazing meeting space for us and a wonderful lunch. The Society discussed great topics and insight. We welcomed new members and reunited with existing ones.
I had a great opportunity in September to participate and coordinate a fabulous bridal fashion show at Ann Taylor in the Plaza. I designed all print, including invitations and programs. I had several adds on The Knot, Wedding Wire and The Plaza Happenings. This show went amazing.! I contacted a few of my talented professionals and they accepted. Cindi, from Select Event Rentals,donated all the delicious table linens. They were a huge hit for the direction of the event. Siobhan, one of the owners of dollface studio photography(Darah the other and love them both) shot all the photos for the event. Siobhan was a huge part, especially documenting this day. I wanted to do something that instantly would create that WOW factor. I partnered with Iris, owner of Colors By Padmini for the dramatic organza sheers that were hung thru out the store. Sharon Durran and Victoria , event managers at Maggiano's, provided the appetizers for the event. Maggiano's does an amazing job consistently, that's why their reputation is well known every where. They also offer catering off site and their KOP facility has an amazing private reception room, not to mention, the staff is top notch! One of my favorite professionals was, Tom Covello, owner of Celebrations Design Group. He created all the floral art for the table and I mean FLORAL ART! He went above and beyond, his tables-capes had amazing interests everyone was loved them. He also has his own floral studio in the Hotel PuPont in DE.
Let there be cake! Well ours was from Clays Creative Corner Bakery in Berwyn. It was delicious! They coordinated the colors according to the event and turned out fabulous. Jeremy, owner of Prestige Chocolates Online also provided the decedent truffles for all of us. He hand makes all his truffles from scratch. They make great corporate and wedding favors. Well, bridal show fashion can not be completed without - diamonds! Michelle and her bodyguard from Tiffany and Co. in the Plaza, lent us over 70,000 in diamonds. That was a huge hit with everyone. Michelle is such a sweet person and an honest one at that. Check her out in the Plaza on the second floor. The models, all 15 of them that is, were pampered head to toe by a few talented professionals. Susan, owner of Sevan the Salon in Conshohocken, (not to mention, the salon I go to, see Melissa) came with her staff and completed the models looks, and They LOOKED AMAZING. All the models had a sexy fierce look that worked for the catwalk and for any special event. Well, what was the crowd jumping to, DJ Ric ROK with proper talent that is. Rick and his partner set the mood right, spinning an eclectic sound that was heard literally thru the first level of the Plaza. Contact me with his info. A few months ago, I planned Yom and Paul's fabulous wedding from beginning to end. One of her guests and good friend called me fews weeks weeks back asked if I do themed or children's parties? This was a great opportunity to show my fun side. The theme naturally - Halloween! This event was all about the children having fun with various activities including, pumpkin carving contests, bobbing for apples and smashing the pinata. The decor was festive and chic. There were alot of elements that were put in place, from the dinning room and living room space. My client had amazing halloween accessories, and we utilized them in every part of the main entertaining area. The event was a success! I look forward to another themed party!
Tonight I just came back from my monthly meetings with the Society of Wedding Planners, and the meeting was held at the fabulous Westin downtown. The service as always, was top notch!
